Agra is a city, which is famous for its pethas, palaces and forts. The Taj Mahal in Agra is one of the seven wonders of the world. It is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the River Yamuna. Now, we would like to tell you more about our tour. On the bus, we listened to an audio and played a quiz. After we reached the hotel, we had our lunch and left for Fatehpur Sikri. It is situated at a distance of thirty seven kilometers from Agra. The atmosphere of Fatehpur Sikri was really pleasant. The complex of Fatehpur Sikri has many monuments and temples in a uniform architectural style and includes one of the largest mosques in India, the Jama Masjid. We enjoyed it a lot there. We learnt new things about the Mughal empire. Sultan Sikandar Lodi, the Muslim ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, founded Agra in the year 1504. We rested overnight and woke up at 6:30 a.m. We visited the Taj Mahal on the same day. The construction of the Taj Mahal started in 1631 AD. The mausoleum was completed in 1648 AD and the outlying building and gardens were completed in 1653 AD. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. Taj Mahal can be translated as the ‘Crown Palace’.

It was our first school trip and we enjoyed it a lot. It was really great. We want to thank our lovely teachers and principal ma’am for this great trip.
