Mukteshwar is located at an elevation of 2,285 metres in India. It is spread over an area of 3400 acres, offering spectacular views of the Himalayas. The town is famous for its apple orchards and viewed as one of the best places for apple picking. The place derives its name from a 350-year-old temple, Mukteshwar Dham, dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Once we reached Mukteshwar, we saw evergreen forests in the mountains glistening with sunlight. It was one of the most fascinating sights in Mukteshwar. Later, we saw a huge rock that contained mica making it shine in sunlight. We found a fascinating fact about the forests which had trees growing leaves with one side in silver and the other side in green. During the forest trek we saw some wild mushrooms.

We also saw Hanuman Rock and it is believed that Lord Hanuman was lying on that rock and that is how it got its name. During our visit to the Nandi Temple, we saw many monkeys in the area and they were very friendly. On our way to the temple, we saw people in groups who came together to worship God. The temple is located in the midst of the forest and it is a very peaceful place.

It was truly an amazing and life changing experience for us but the most attractive was Chauli ki Jali, Nandi Temple, lush green forests and the shining rocks. This trip taught us to be more punctual, mindful and disciplined.
