Discovering Shimla Through Its Heritage 2026

Our journey to Shimla and Kufri was filled with excitement, fun, and unforgettable memories. As Grade VII students of D.P.S. Rajnagar Extension, we were eager to explore the beautiful hill stations of Himachal Pradesh. On the first day, we reached our hotel, checked into our rooms, and freshened up before enjoying lunch. Afterwards, we set out to visit two of Shimla’s famous attractions, Christ Church and Mall Road.

Our visit to Christ Church was a wonderful experience. Built in the 19th century, it is one of the oldest churches in North India and is known for its beautiful neo-Gothic architecture. We admired the paintings of Jesus Christ and a miniature display depicting scenes from his life. The peaceful atmosphere and impressive architecture made the visit memorable. Later, we explored Mall Road, one of Shimla’s busiest shopping streets. We enjoyed looking at the colourful shops, purchasing souvenirs, and admiring the local handicrafts and woollen garments. We also clicked numerous photographs to capture these special moments.

Beyond visiting new places, this journey helped us develop confidence, independence, and a sense of responsibility. After the stress of examinations, travelling with our friends allowed us to relax, enjoy ourselves, and create lasting memories. We also gained a better understanding of Shimla’s history, culture, and local traditions. Our teachers and the EdTerra team took great care of us throughout the journey, ensuring our comfort and safety. This journey was not just about sightseeing but also about friendship, personal growth, and experiences that we would cherish for years to come.
