Our educational trip to Agra to see the famous Taj Mahal was an unforgettable experience. The Taj Mahal was commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1682 to honour his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who was his favourite among his three wives. She had 14 children before sadly passing away while giving birth to their last child. Mumtaz, originally from Persia, was deeply loved by the emperor, and her death led to the creation of this incredible structure. In 1983, the Taj Mahal was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site for being a symbol of eternal love and an outstanding example of Mughal architecture.
The beauty of the Taj Mahal is not just in its stunning white marble but also in the details of its design. It has three main gates, each representing one of Shah Jahan’s wives, with the main entrance being the grandest. The size and beauty of the Taj Mahal left us all amazed. We were struck by its symmetry, the intricate carvings, and the beautiful surroundings.
Our visit to the Taj Mahal was truly a valuable experience. Standing in front of this incredible building, we couldn’t help but admire its timeless beauty, which has amazed people for centuries. This trip helped us learn more about history and allowed us to see the magnificence of a true architectural wonder up close. We highly recommend visiting the Taj Mahal to see its grandeur for yourself.
