There is nothing quite like the natural beauty and rich heritage of Bali. We enjoyed its vibrant temples, intricate arts and crafts, rich spiritual traditions, and warm hospitality towards visitors. The people are extremely friendly and welcoming.

The Ubud Royal Palace, in Ubud town is a historical landmark and cultural icon of Bali. It was built in the 19th century, and reflects Bali’s rich history. Bali is known for its unique blend of Hinduism, Buddhism, and local customs, known as “Agama Hindu Dharma.” They believe in three supreme gods—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva—each representing different aspects of life. There are over 20,000 temples in Bali, amongst which, the Jagannath Temple is a prominent one, with impressive sculptures depicting Hindu mythology.

The visit to the Monkey Forest was very exciting for us, as hordes of monkeys roam freely here. A true example of “live and let live”. We enjoyed the stunning views of the Kintamani volcano. We also shopped to our heart’s content at the local markets.

Our visit to Green School was one of the highlights of our journey. This global network of schools, located in New Zealand, Bali and South Africa, are committed to making our world sustainable through education. We were very inspired seeing the Green School, where classrooms are made out of natural materials such as bamboo. The school was not only beautiful, but also eco-friendly. It was inspiring to visit such a progressive, dynamic and futuristic school.

Overall, our experience in Bali was unforgettable. We enjoyed some other activities like river rafting and various workshops, which added to our learning experience. Bali is truly a remarkable place to explore, filled with learning opportunities and lasting memories.
