In today’s urbanised world, many people lack the survival skills required to venture outside their comfort zones. This blog provides a glimpse of our transformative experiences in nature, highlighting the challenges that tested us and empowered us to confront our fears.
Upon arriving at our camp, Little Jaguars on a late, frosty evening, we settled into our rooms seeking comfort after a tiring journey. Our Journey Mentors ensured our day ended on an eventful note. They woke us up to the chilly breeze of Dhanaulti with their ear-shattering whistles. Chanting “Yo Yo Yo!” and “Yo, What’s up?”, we embarked on a picturesque trek through the valleys. Upon our return, we engaged in exhilarating activities like zip lining, ropes course, balance beams, burma bridge and jumaring. Embarking on this thrilling adventure, we learnt that a little courage can help us conquer our greatest fears. The bonfire at the heart of the campsite made a perfect spot for a bonding session between the students of different grades. The DJ night brought back our Hyderabadi vibes with loads of energy. We radiated this atmosphere throughout the campsite.
The following day greeted us with an unprecedented amount of rain that confined us to our tents. Despite the bitter weather, we huddled together, learning essential life skills from our Journey Mentors. We formed small groups and participated in all the games and activities assigned. This taught us the value of friendship, leadership and teamwork.
In conclusion, we would like to leave you with a simple message, “Take only photos and leave only footprints,” emphasising the importance of responsible exploration and preservation of our natural surroundings.
