Singapore, an island city state located in Maritime Southeast Asia. The city of Singapore is famously known as the “Lion City.” This name was given by Sang Nila Utama, a Srivijayan prince, as the literal translation of “Lion City” is Singapura.
We were informed by our guide that Singapore is one of the largest ports in the world and serves as a key fishing and shipping route. Singapore is a small but dynamic island nation that has various ethnic groups living together in unity. It is widely believed that the progressive era of Singapore began with its independence on 9th August 1965, when they separated from Malaysia. The island nation was then led by Yusof Ishak, Singapore’s first President, and Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. Since the beginning, Singapore’s administration has emphasised economic growth and sustainability. This was done to attract investors by assuring them of safe conditions for investing. To further attract investment, some strict rules and regulations were established relating to tax policies, bonus for employees, and the idea of sustainable development.
Singapore shows a great mix of culture and modernity, with traditions blending well with the architectural styles and intricate designs. People from diverse communities live together harmoniously, upholding true multicultural spirit.
