Situated in the heart of Rajasthan, Ranthambore National Park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. It is a perfect weekend getaway to discover wildlife diversity, explore ancient history and spot big felines in their natural habitat.
Taking a jungle safari through the national park is a must for every visitor. You can easily spot deer, langurs and a variety of birds. If you’re lucky, you can also spot a majestic tiger. The national park is known for its abundant flora and fauna. It consists of 315 species of birds and 38 species of mammals.
While we all admired the rich biodiversity of the forest during the safari, some of our fellow travellers were fortunate enough to spot a tiger. We also embarked on a trek in the Ranthambore Fort, which harbours spectacular ruins from centuries ago. We learnt about the history of Ranthambore Fort and saw the ancient temples present inside. Trinetra Ganesha Temple inside the fort exudes a divine aura, and its architecture displays the rich heritage of the region. In the evening, we were treated to a Rajasthani folk performance and engaged in an interactive session with a naturalist. We also took part in the Theatre Under the Sky activity, which focused on combating poaching and the illegal trade of tiger body parts. In this way, Theatre Under The Sky offered a fun learning experience.
In conclusion, Ranthambore is simply a fabulous destination to explore. It is a treasure trove of nature’s wonders, making it a true paradise for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.
