Is Amber Fort really worth the hype that hundreds of tourists visit it everyday? This question will be answered through our blog, based on our own experience.
Amber Fort is a beautiful historic site located in Amer, Rajasthan, just a few kilometres from Jaipur. Here, technology was way ahead of its time. This masterpiece of a fort wasn’t easy to build. It took 137 years to finish the construction of the entire fort! The building of this site was first commissioned by Raja Man Singh, but it wasn’t enough. The project was continued by Sawai Jai Singh.
This beautiful architecture required beautiful materials to make it. This fort was made up of red sandstone and beautiful marbles. As the builders were quite smart, they made different rooms for different purposes. Diwan-e-aam was a meeting place for the public and Diwan-e-khas was for special guests. The fort also had Sheesh Mahal and Sukh Niwas. As they were wise, they also had solutions to every possible problem they could face like military attacks. Amber fort and adjacent Jaigarh Fort had an underground escape passage in times of war. The builders were very creative, such as having a system for water harvesting as well as convex mirrors lined up to view the stars.
We recommend you to visit this majestic historic site and learn about the people you didn’t know before. It was very interesting to gain new knowledge and learn the science behind their innovative designs. Lastly, we hope to be as creative and logical as the people who built this fort.
