“Exchange of cultures leads to an exchange of diversity and trends”
Dear Readers, our German exchange has come to an end and we would love to share our experience with you. We are glad we got this opportunity to be a part of this incredible journey. As cliché as it may be, the best advice we can give to any future exchange students is to enjoy every moment and try to soak in as much knowledge as you can.
Even before leaving for Germany, we were all filled with happiness, hope and excitement and eagerly looked forward to experiencing as many new things as we could. On the first day of our exchange programme, our host family and host school welcomed us wholeheartedly with gifts. The first day started off so well and we had an amazing breakfast with our host families. Our host families tried their best to make us feel at home and explained to us about the local culture and lifestyle.
The whole week of the exchange programme was perfectly planned with amazing activities. Our week was challenging but it was also interesting to be able to experience the German lifestyle in-depth.
This programme was an excellent opportunity for exchanging thoughts and ideas as well as learning about new culture and traditions. We feel that school exchange programmes are an excellent way to provide global exposure for the students. It sensitizes the students and makes them ready for their future at a global level. Everything seemed so surreal. We felt sad as we walked away from our favourite places because we knew it was probably the last time we’d be seeing them.
We have experienced and captured so many memories that it makes us nostalgic. Every time we scroll through our photo album, it takes us down the memory lane – after all, it was our journey!!
