The Amber Fort in Rajasthan was constructed in 1490 and is one of the oldest forts in India. Originally built by Raja Man Singh, it was made with sandstone and marble. In this blog, we will share our experience of our visit to the Amber Fort. The fort is an important landmark in India and a popular tourist destination. It is famous for its intricate architecture, stunning interiors, and beautiful gardens. We had a great time exploring the fort.
The Amber Fort is situated high above the city of Amber and is surrounded by a 12 km wall for the protection of the city and its residents. The Amber Fort and Jaigarh Fort are said to be connected by an underground passage meant to serve as an escape route in times of war. Amber Fort consists of Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Sheesh Mahal, and Sukh Niwas. The Diwan-e-Khas, with its 48 pillars, left us thrilled by its beauty. The pillars of Diwan-e-Khas were a fusion of Hinduism and Mughal architecture, featuring an elephant and flowers as symbols of the Mughals at the bottom. The Sheesh Mahal was also a beautiful sight to behold with its intricate mirror work and unique ceiling.
The Amber Fort stands as a great example of Rajput and Mughal architecture, leaving us with memories of all sorts. We had the best times of our lives at Amber Fort. We loved the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the top. We also learnt many fascinating stories about the fort’s history and its many rulers. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience!
