We visited the popular Taj Mahal with a lot of excitement. It was a spectacular experience as we also learnt much about its history and cultural significance.
Taj Mahal turned out to be a beautiful and the most attractive historical site we visited in India. It is a historical monument in India, known as one of the seven wonders of the world. We learnt that it was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, after her death. It has become a symbol of love across the world today. We got to learn about the importance of Taj Mahal in building India’s economy as millions of tourists visit Taj Mahal every year. Participating in an interesting quiz helped us retain what we learnt.
The history of India is very vast and diverse. The Mughal empire ruled over parts of India for three centuries. We learnt about the rulers of the Mughal Empire like Babur, Humayun, Akbar and Jahangir. Shah Jahan, Jahangir’s successor, had a lot of influence in building the art and architecture of India. Shah Jahan’s son, Aurangzeb played an important part in the history of India as during his rule, the Mughal empire controlled nearly 25% of the world’s wealth in the 17th century.
Lastly, we would like to share that it was an amazing trip filled with many warm memories. We not only saw the greatest structure of the Mughal empire but also had an educational experience. Taj Mahal is the pride of Agra and the best place to visit to learn about the rich history of India.
