Jim Corbett is a completely forested landmass with an area of 1288 sq. kms. This goes without saying that if you visit Jim Corbett, you will definitely be facing a lot of challenges. So, this is your ultimate guide for how to deal with the ups and downs you will be facing in Jim Corbett.
We visited Jim Corbett during 3-5 April 2023 with our peers. No doubt, it was an adventurous experience, but we also faced some challenges. One of the biggest challenges was the weather, which changed frequently. To be prepared, we brought raincoats and jackets and wore clothes that were good at absorbing sweat. We also wore comfortable shoes and avoided buying new shoes before the trip.
It’s important to bring your own snacks because there aren’t many places to buy them inside the reserve. The Jeep Safari made us spot three species of deer (Spotted deer, Sambhar and Barking deer), a family of elephants, a variety of birds and we were lucky enough to spot a tiger as well. When you’re not exploring the forest, there are plenty of other tourist spots to visit like the Corbett Falls, Corbett Museum, Kosi River, and Garjiya Temple. It was an amazing experience.
While visiting Jim Corbett, we learnt to be respectful of the wildlife and their natural habitat. We were taught to follow the park’s guidelines and regulations, such as maintaining a safe distance from the animals and avoiding any actions that might disturb or harm them. We also experienced cooking our own food using wood and stones so that we know how to survive in adverse conditions.
