The beautiful island city-state of Singapore is known for its booming economic growth and cosmopolitan culture. Its skyline is dominated by high-rise skyscrapers built to boost sustainability in the long run. The government efforts towards biodiversity conservation and waste reduction have made Singapore a model of sustainable development, particularly in Asia. Our trip to Singapore exposed us to multiple ways in which development can coexist with the preservation of the environment in modern times.

Singapore with EdTerra

We visited several places in Singapore, which make it a favourite among the tourists. We really enjoyed visiting the Merlion, the Science Centre, and Chinatown. We also went to Sentosa Island and rode the Cable Car. Riding on the roller-coasters at Universal Studios was thrilling too. We also visited Madame Tussauds Singapore. Watching the show titled ‘Wings of Time’ was spectacular. Shopping at Mustafa Centre and Orchard Street was another great experience. The most amazing part of our trip was the Night Safari, a one-of-is-kind nocturnal zoo. It was interesting to see the ways in which plant and animal species along with their habitats are protected in the wildlife reserves of Singapore.

The most enlightening part of our journey was visiting Sky Greens that features the world’s first low-carbon, hydraulic water-driven vertical farming system. We were awed by the level of advancement achieved in farming operations. Food was grown there with minimal use of water, land, and energy resources. It was thoroughly inspiring to see the potential of human innovation used in promoting urban agriculture at Sky Greens.

Our trip to Singapore was a memorable experience. Everyone must visit this amazing country not only for experiencing its tourist attractions but also for its sustainability ventures.
