Dharamshala is a town filled with stunning views and rich culture. It brings together peace and traditions with a modern touch that truly touches the heart. The name Dharamshala means a “spiritual dwelling” or a rest house built for pilgrims.

Dharamshala sits in the lovely Kangra Valley, right at the foothills of the Dhauladhar mountain range in the Himalayas. The trip began with the exploration of the intersection of cultures. The presence of a Tibetan monastery, a Protestant church, and a Hindu temple coexisting in harmony is a wonder in itself. The area around St John in the Wilderness church was so peaceful, making it a wonderful place to sit quietly and think. With its lovely Gothic architecture, colourful stained-glass windows, and crucifix, the church reminded us of important values like kindness, sacrifice, hope, and love for all. The Dalai Lama Temple stood out due to the powerful chants emanating from its walls, which touched our souls.

The McLeod Ganj Market, locally called “Little Lhasa,” is a colourful place where Tibetan traditions meet local Pahadi culture. Nearby, the HPCA Stadium is famous for being one of the highest and most picturesque cricket grounds in the world! In the winter season, you can see bright, snowy mountain peaks shining right behind the lush green field while a match is being played. In conclusion, all these unique landmarks, regardless of their different pasts, ideas, and ideologies, interconnect in a deep way to influence and encourage us. Dharamshala filled us with a deep sense of pride, awe, and wonder, making us appreciate its cultural richness and making it a must-visit.
