Welcome to Umaid Palace, the place to indulge in organic royalty. As students, we were excited to discover a space where sustainability comes first, food is locally sourced, and the scenic architecture is preserved with so much care. Walking through the property, we felt how tradition and eco-friendly living come together in a very natural way.

Hosting a lush 20-acre lawn, this is a perfect place to enjoy nature, sporting several unique species of birds — truly the ultimate bird-watchers’ paradise. We were amazed by the stunning façade that upholds Rajasthan’s rich cultural tapestry and unique identity. The buildings, in varied shapes and sizes with intricately carved designs, made us feel as if we were walking through a living museum. The calm atmosphere and green surroundings gave us the chance to slow down and appreciate every detail.

Apart from being a visual delight, this quaint sanctuary serves locally sourced, organic food and practises sustainable agricultural methods such as dairy and poultry farming. We learnt how their philosophy of resource looping stands true — no food is wasted and water is always harvested and recycled. Seeing these practices up close helped us understand how sustainability works in real life.

All in all, Umaid Palace is the perfect amalgamation of regal Rajasthani splendour, while promoting cultural retention, resource looping, and sustainable agricultural practices. Visiting this place helped us connect with our roots by indulging in its splendour and preserved heritage. Our experience here not only enriched our learning but also inspired us to think more deeply about conservation and responsible tourism.
