Our school, The Newtown School, Kolkata, had an amazing educational journey to Jaipur and Ranthambore, organised by EdTerra Edventures. Unanimously, the jungle safari was the best experience of the entire trip, and we are excited to share the details of this adventure.

On the third day of our trip, in the evening, we were divided into groups and taken to Ranthambore National Park for our first safari. We saw various species of animals such as spotted deer, sambar deer, peacocks, antelopes, and langurs. Even though we were thrilled to see so many animals, we felt a little disappointed at not spotting the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger.

However, we should never have doubted EdTerra, because they had another surprise for us, a second safari the next morning at dawn. We learnt that during dawn, the chances of spotting a tiger are much higher. A few hours into the safari, our patience was rewarded when we finally saw the magnificent tiger. We were really excited, and the cherry on top was that we didn’t just see one, or two, but three tigers together! Learning about the park’s tigers, we learnt about Ranthambore’s tigress queen Machli, as she played a key role in the regeneration of the tiger population in the park in the early 2000s.

At last, we would like to thank EdTerra, the best educational travel organisation, and our school for hosting this wonderful experience. A special thanks to our teachers for their constant care and support throughout the journey, which made this trip so easy and enjoyable.
