The Golden Temple is a renowned place of worship located in Amritsar. The temple is famous for its gold covered structure and attracts tourists from all over the world. Visitors from all over the world come to admire the beauty and tranquility of this remarkable temple.
We observed that inside the Golden Temple, visitors are required to cover their hair. This is done as a sign of respect. A handkerchief or a piece of cloth is also provided for this purpose. The temple is surrounded by numerous shops, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Continuous bhajans play throughout the day, creating a serene environment where people can sit, sing, and reflect. The temple is also encircled by a large, beautiful pond, which adds to its appeal. Many visitors bathe in this pond as part of their spiritual experience.
During our visit, we covered our heads and felt captivated by the peaceful setting. Our guide informed us that the Golden Temple serves the largest langar sewa in the world, where food is served to devotees who sit together. We saw people from diverse backgrounds, including Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, and visitors from other countries, all gathered together. The soothing music playing over the speakers enhanced the calm, spiritual ambience.
The Golden Temple is a must visit destination for anyone interested in experiencing the rich culture and spirituality of Sikhism. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and were deeply moved by the serene atmosphere. It was truly a memorable experience.
