We are very excited to share our experiences about the incredible Shimla trip we embarked on for two days. We spent our time running, shouting, screaming, and having the best time of our lives.
We started off from our school and spent a full night travelling, chatting, eating, and just enjoying with our friends. After we arrived in Shimla, we checked into our hotels and freshened up. Soon, we departed to visit the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, which was originally built as the Viceregal Lodge for Lord Dufferin, Viceroy of India. A part of the institute is now a museum. We found it to be a very peaceful place. Shimla was selected as the summer capital of British India due to its cool climate that mimicked England’s weather during summers. It was the first building in Shimla to get electricity. Today, it still stands in its original condition and looks magnificent.
Then, we trekked to the Himachal State Museum. We were all tired when we reached there. The museum was like a maze and some of us even got lost! But the serenity of the place was worth it. Afterwards, we had a DJ night, where we danced and shouted till our legs were wobbly and voices hoarse.
The heaven of Himachal, Shimla, is not just another hill station. It’s an emotion, a walk in the past, and an experience everyone should have with their friends at least once in their lifetime.
