Nowadays, people are living a very urbanised life, due to which, they don’t know how to survive outside of their comfort zones. This blog will give a brief account of our life-changing experiences in the lap of nature and will describe the activities that challenged us and helped us overcome our fears.

On the first day, we climbed a steep slope to reach our campsite. We were allotted tents to live in. We were divided into teams of five and were ready to compete in the challenges given by our Journey Mentors. We decided on fun names and slogans for our teams, displaying utmost creativity. The best ones earned points. The tent had minimum facilities, including a bed, a tubelight and a washroom. The stay was very different from our day-to-day lives.

The next day, rope activities like Flying Fox, Jumaring and Burma Bridge were organised for us. During these activities, we were encouraged to not give up easily. After a short break, we trekked to the summit of a mountain and enjoyed the overwhelming view of nature along with learning about various species of plants there. After our exciting but tiring day, we sat by the bonfire, sang songs, danced and listened to stories. In the following days, we visited some other places, namely Bhalu Gaad Waterfall, Mukteshwar Temple, Bhimtal Lake, Hanuman Garhi Temple and Chauli Ki Jali, which had a serene view of the Nanda Devi peak.

Summing up the experience, it was very peaceful and something very new. It made us learn many life skills. To end it on a good note, we would like to say, “Take only photos and leave only footprints. Say yes to new adventures and better get started.”
