In the heart of the mountains lies the beautiful hill station of Kasauli. It is a perfect blend of colonial-era architecture and Himachali culture. Whether you want a serene morning walk, a stroll through bustling streets, or a peaceful sunset with hot chai and a plate of Maggi, Kasauli offers it all.

Our trip to Kasauli was extremely memorable and enjoyable. After the long bus ride, one of the first things we noticed was the tall green trees covering the hills around us. Our journey guide told us that they were oak, chestnut, and sal trees, all adding to the hill station’s charm. Among the many places we visited, the Gilbert Trail, a scenic 1.5 km nature walk, stood out for its peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking views.

We also visited the Baptist Church, which displayed a unique blend of Gothic and Indian architectural styles. The Mall Road, lined with shops, cafés, toy stores, and restaurants, reflected the vibrant local life of Kasauli. One of the most interesting things we learned was the legend associated with this hill station. According to folklore, Lord Hanuman placed his foot on a hilltop here while travelling to collect the Sanjeevani herb. Later, during British rule, the town developed further as the British introduced organised water supply, sanitation, electricity, and built schools, churches, hospitals, and administrative offices—many of which still stand as examples of colonial architecture.

All in all, Kasauli is an amazing place, extravagant yet humble. From fresh mountain air to the lively Mall Road, from peaceful hikes to historic buildings, there is nothing that Kasauli cannot offer. It truly has something for everyone.
