Today, we are going on an epic journey to one of the most magnificent natural wonders in the world, the Niagara Falls! Standing before this colossal cascade, we immediately felt its power. Imagine a cliff 188 feet tall, with a staggering 44 million gallons of water thundering over it every single minute! The sound alone was truly amazing and incredibly pleasing. We were told by our guide that Niagara Falls isn’t just a single waterfall, but three in total.

First, there’s the majestic Horseshoe Falls, the largest of the three, with the majority of it lying on the Canadian side. Then, entirely on the U.S. side, we have the powerful American Falls. And nestled delicately beside it is the smaller, yet equally captivating, Bridal Veil Falls. It was truly a sight to behold, with the falls straddling the border between the U.S. and Canada, making it a unique international spectacle.

We were amazed to know that Niagara Falls was born approximately 12,000 years ago, right at the end of the last Ice Age. Niagara Falls is more than just a geological marvel. It’s a place steeped in history and significance. We came to know that Niagara Falls State Park is the oldest state park in the U.S. Established way back in 1885, the park stretches over an impressive 400 acres, offering incredible views of the falls. We felt that no visit to Niagara Falls is complete without experiencing the iconic Maid of the Mist Boat Ride. We got wonderfully soaked as we sailed right to the very base of the falls. Beyond its stunning beauty and tourist appeal, Niagara Falls plays a vital role as a source of hydroelectric power, harnessing the incredible force of its flowing water. We learnt that the place is also known to shelter indigenous people who revere these waters.

After visiting the Niagara Falls, we were assured of the power of nature and the rich history of the world’s most spectacular sight. Niagara Falls delivered an experience which we will always cherish. We will suggest everyone to add Niagara Falls to their travel bucket list.
