Have you ever wanted to visit a place that soothes you? Mukteshwar seems to be that perfect destination. Whether it is a family or solo trip, you will have a memorable experience in Mukteshwar. The place derives its name from Mukteshwar Dham, a 350 year old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The fact that intrigued us about the temple was that the Shiva-linga at Mukteshwar Dham was made for religious practices for and by the Pandavas.

This little town of Mukteshwar is 51 km away from Nainital and takes you to a new dimension of life. Mukteshwar is a place with breathtaking sites, diverse wildlife and rich cultural heritage. During this journey our team, Spartans of Scottish High got to enhance our geological awareness and learned to appreciate nature. The things we enjoyed in our visit were the breathtaking viewpoints, rich history, geographical features and entertaining activities.

Mukteshwar offers a variety of engaging activities. The most well-known is ‘The Zipline of Good Luck’ which provides an incredible view of the valley. The ‘Chauli ki Jali’, a place for rock climbing, gives a beautiful view of the mountains.

The popular attractions include the long and steep valleys which are over 2,200 metres above the sea level, statue of Lord Hanuman, the formation of snake shaped hill, forests and more.

The wildlife in Mukteshwar is diverse with different kinds of animal species like leopards and monkeys. It truly helped us to understand the wonder of mother nature.

Overall, we learned that Mukteshwar is a place with rich culture and history, breathtaking landmarks and enticing activities. So, don’t give it a second thought and just go for it!
