Our journey was action-packed and filled with excitement. The first day was spent traveling, singing and dancing on the bus. The real exploration started on the second day. It started with our visit to the Ranthambore Fort. The fort has intriguing architecture. It stands on the top of a hill. It seemed to us that every aspect of the fort was well-planned. All the elements of the fort including its doors and domes are truly a masterpiece. In addition to these, the view from the place was mesmerizing. It completely blew our minds. We could see miles of lush green trees and many birds and langurs. The fort also has myths and legends of various kings, queens, wars and deaths attached to it. According to a historical legend, when the Muslim invader Alauddin Khilji laid siege to this fort in 1303 the royal women performed ‘jauhar’ (self-immolation) in this fort. Its history can become the plot of a Bollywood movie.
Moving forward, let’s talk about the jungle safari. The safari was an exquisite experience. When we first went for the safari, it seemed very simple but felt that it would just be a ride through the jungle to spot a tiger. However, it turned out to be much more than that. Although the tiger eluded us, we were able to spot other wildlife creatures like Sambar deer, Nilgai, baby crocodile and different species of birds. We couldn’t ever imagine that these seventy two hours of our life would be so much fun and frolic.
