We, the students of The Millennium School, Sector 41, Noida, went on an exciting camping trip to the exotic village of Hiranagar in Shimla. We would like to share our experiences of the trip.
On the first day, we all assembled in school late evening for our overnight bus journey to Hiranagar, which was 13 hours long. We reached at 7 am and then we were assigned to our tents. After freshening up, we proceeded towards the cafeteria for breakfast, after which we had an orientation. We were introduced to the campsite and the instructors. After resting for a while, the camp finally began with our first activity. We were divided into teams by our instructors. The first activity of the day was flag-making. We had to paint our own flags, as well as decide our team name and slogan. Later in the evening, we had a bonfire and music.
On the second day, our wake up call was at 6:30 in the morning. We had our “morning rise and shine session” which basically consisted of warm up exercises for that day’s trek. After breakfast, we had another team activity. At 5 pm, when the weather cooled down, we embarked for the most fun and awaited activity of the trip, the trek! While we were returning, it started raining which made it even more fun. On the third day, we participated in ziplining and rappelling adventure activities at the campsite.
The trip was filled with unexpected surprises such as the rain and the cool weather. It was pretty cold in the morning and evening, but hot during the day. It was unusual weather for someone living in Delhi NCR. The rain was however the most fun experience for most of us. The instructors were the sweetest. The activities were exactly as adventurous as we had expected. The view was breathtaking. The river at the campsite was really fun to step into. Overall, it was a thrilling trip.
