In today’s rapidly evolving world, mastering 21st century skills is essential for personal and professional success. Some of these skills are creativity, teamwork, critical thinking and social skills. We believe that these skills are best learned through adventure camp. During our expedition with EdTerra to Koti, Himachal Pradesh, we got the opportunity to practice these skills. Our Adventure Camp program included outdoor survival activities and adventure activities such as Maggi cooking in the wilderness among other activities.

Here are some of the details of the activities and skill development we experienced at the camp. We felt that adventure camping programs encourage participants to think outside the box. We did activities like the first-aid session and Maggi cooking in the forest that stimulated our creative thinking. We discovered that collaboration is at the heart of adventure camps as campers must work together to achieve common goals. Further, we experienced that Leadership skills are naturally honed in the camp environment. The practical approach helps develop confidence and decision making abilities.

Problem solving is a staple of adventurous camp. We had to think of ourselves taking up ideas in competitions, adventurous and games where we helped each other. With our skills we engaged with each other, created strong friendships and had fun. Through adventure camp we learned productivity and the benefits of following a structured schedule. We learned how to manage our time and stay punctual. This also apprised us about the benefits of hard work.

Our experience in adventure camps left us with cherished memories and invaluable life lessons that we will endure for years to come.
