Situated in the lap of the Himalayas, Chanshal welcomed us with breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and a sense of peace that instantly captured our attention. For us, Chanshal Valley was a place that never existed on any map. But it did for EdTerra. And here in Chanshal, we participated in the Nature Mandala activity. It is an art form that uses repeating patterns arranged around a central point. The word “mandala” means circle and represents balance, unity, and harmony. Nature provides endless inspiration for mandala artists because many natural objects contain symmetrical and repeating designs.

Through the activity of making Nature Mandala art, we learnt about natural forms while expressing our imagination. When we carefully observe plants, flowers, and insects, we begin to appreciate their beauty and complexity. Flowers are one of the best examples of a natural mandala. Their petals spread evenly from the centre, creating beautiful patterns.

For the Nature Mandala making activity, our team had collected the already fallen leaves, flowers, twigs, and stones from the surroundings so as to avoid harming nature at all. Working together, we arranged these natural elements into a colourful circular design. Each member contributed ideas, making the activity both creative and collaborative. Exploring nature through mandala art was both interactive and educational. It helped us notice the beauty of natural patterns while improving focus and artistic skills. By combining art and nature, we developed gratitude for the environment.

This experience taught us that nature is not only something to admire but also something to learn from and protect. Through Nature Mandala art, we discovered how creativity, teamwork, and nature can come together to create something meaningful. We are grateful to EdTerra and our mentors for providing us with this unforgettable experience in Chanshal Valley.
