Our visit to the Amer Fort was incredibly enriching because it had beautiful architecture and historical significance. Being a masterpiece of both Mughal and Rajput architecture, the fort made us feel deeply connected to our past.

The journey to the fort was filled with visual delights, such as street musicians, colourful shops, and various food vendors. Upon reaching Amer Fort, we climbed up the stairs of the fort and watched the grand gates and intricate designs on the fort. It was enlightening to see Rajasthani architecture and culture flourishing there. Moreover, the huge walls surround the fort on all four sides, making the palace extremely secure. Within the fort, we walked through the crowd of tourists and reached the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace, also known as the Sukh Niwas, was built within the Amber Fort specifically to withstand the heat. On the roof of the palace, there is a rainwater harvesting tank from which the water is distributed throughout the corridors. Additionally, for a smooth flow, stone channels have been constructed, and the effect of water and wind combines to give a pleasant cooling effect.

The palace also has the Sheesh Mahal, famous for its magnificent design and opulence. It can create a starry effect when a single lamp is lit inside the Sheesh Mahal. Its detailing was made from colourful glass, precious stones, and mirrors. During our journey, when we entered the Sheesh Mahal, we were in awe of its beauty. In conclusion, the fort’s greatness can be seen in features like the carvings, the jharokhas, and the hall of public and private audience. Overall, the palace is a masterclass in practicality and grandeur, and we were amazed to visit such a palace.
