In this day and age, we are constantly surrounded by addictive technology. But during our camping trip with EdTerra, we were able to get away from technology and be closer to nature. At the camp, we learnt not only about nature but also developed skills that improved our physical and mental abilities.

Activities such as valley crossing and trekking were amazing. It taught us to appreciate nature. We also gained skills that will help us in the long term. In the modern age, we are expected to have a good amount of knowledge, communication skills, problem solving skills, leadership skills, adaptability, physical aptitude, and more. It is necessary to develop such skills that will help us become global citizens and change the world for the better.

At our camp, we participated in a variety of competitions that helped us understand the importance of these skills. Nature is also perhaps the most wonderful teacher. For example, during the Maggi walk, we worked together as a team to collect resources from the forest to make a delicious meal. We shared this meal whilst being surrounded by a peaceful and green atmosphere. As growing children, such adventures develop our minds and help us grow into all-rounder citizens who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

To conclude, it is a gift to be able to explore and observe God’s creations. It helped us enhance our communication, creativity, and build appreciation and love for our environment. We were pushed out of our comfort zones and it inspired us to lead an active lifestyle.
