Right at 2:00 pm, our bus left for the Wagah Border. Everyone was excited and curious to witness the famous Beating the Retreat ceremony. We reached the border around 3:00 pm, and our teachers guided us to the seating area where the ceremony would take place.

We took our seats and waited for the event to begin. Patriotic songs were playing in the background, and the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm. A large crowd had gathered to support our country, and people waved flags and cheered with great energy. When the BSF soldiers entered the parade ground, the audience welcomed them with loud cheers. Many people began chanting slogans such as “Hindustan Zindabad” and “Vande Mataram.” The energy of the crowd made the moment feel very powerful.

One of the most important parts of the ceremony was the lowering of the national flags of India and Pakistan. As the flag was lowered, everyone stood up following the BSF’s instructions, showing respect and pride for the nation.

After the ceremony ended, our group walked down the main ramp and clicked photographs near the parade ground. Every student looked excited and proud to have witnessed such a historic and patriotic event. For many of us, it was our first visit to an active defence location, and watching the disciplined performance of the BSF soldiers was truly inspiring. Would you ever visit Amritsar and like to see the Wagah border retreat ceremony?
