To quote Saint Augustine, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” Our journey to Bali has been an extremely interesting and knowledgeable experience. We learnt about Balinese culture, traditions, and heritage in depth. We also explored the island’s hidden treasures, shopping in local markets, meeting new people, and discovering the rich history of this small yet vibrant island. Every moment was filled with curiosity, discovery, and learning. It was truly inspiring to see how the people of Bali have managed to maintain a harmonious balance between modernity and tradition, embracing new ideas and architecture while staying deeply connected to their cultural roots.

We visited several iconic landmarks, including the Bajra Sandhi Monument, which symbolises the Balinese struggle for freedom from colonial rule. They include sacred temples such as Tanah Lot, Uluwatu, and Bedugul Lake Temple, and the lush UNESCO-listed rice terraces. Our itinerary also included a visit to a chocolate factory, a wildlife safari, and the mesmerising Kecak dance performance, a traditional depiction of the Ramayana told through rhythmic chanting, fire, and beautiful masks. At the Ubud Monkey Forest, we had a delightful time observing and interacting with hundreds of playful monkeys.

One of the highlights of our trip was our visit to Green School, an institution educating young changemakers since 2008. Its open, bamboo-structured campus fosters a global community committed to sustainability and creativity.

We feel truly blessed to have experienced Bali beyond its tourist attractions, to see the real heart of the island, its people, and its spirit. This journey has been both educational and transformative. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our school director, Mrs. Rupa Chakravarty, our teachers, Ms. Deepa Gandhi and Mr. Arun Arora, and Mr. Anupam from EdTerra for making this possible.
