There are many wonders in the world, but none are more beautiful than the Agra Fort. We discovered fascinating facts and had an amazing tour of the Agra Fort, also known as Qila-i-Akbari.
We learnt that the fort was constructed in its present form by both Akbar and Shah Jahan during their reigns. We found the architecture of the fort to be amazing and observed that the entrance echoes sounds as part of its defence. The guide informed us that the front entrance was reserved exclusively for the royal family. An aerial view of the palace revealed that the shape of the fort is semicircular with three mahals built inside. We also observed the Diwan-i-Aam, which served as a court where grievances were heard by the emperor, and the Diwan-i-Khas, where all private meetings of the emperor were held. With all these beautiful structures, the fort is a must visit.
The Agra Fort was constructed from a mix of red sandstone and white marble, making it both interesting and visually appealing. The fort also houses three mosques built by Shah Jahan, namely the Moti Masjid, Nagina Masjid, and Mina Masjid where prayers were offered.
The Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983, attracts visitors from all around the world. The fort is located on the right bank of the Yamuna River, adding to its charm and beauty. The wonderful history of the palace continues to attract history lovers.
