This blog captures the untold stories and lesser known paths of Dehradun, as experienced by the students of Pacific World School during our visit to Dehradun and Dhanaulti.
First, we visited the Forest Research Institute (FRI) which truly showed us the beauty and wonder of nature. It was a real eye opener! We saw many unusual types of fungi and different kinds of wood, and even spotted some unique creatures which we had never seen before. After that, we visited the Indian Military Academy (IMA), which was a thrilling experience. The Indian Army officers were really friendly and interactive, making it all the more exciting for us.
We even got to ask lots of questions and learnt how the soldiers train, which was really interesting. After that, the adventure activities in Kandertal were super thrilling! We walked on the Sky Bridge, made by tying ladders together with ropes. The bridge was slightly tilted, which made the experience even more exciting and fun.
Post this activity, we also cycled on a thin rope with safety harnesses, which was very thrilling. We went on a long zipline too, enjoying the amazing view of the deep valley. Lastly, Robber’s Cave was an exciting adventure where walking through water over different kinds of rocks made it even more fun!
Dehradun and Dhanaulti are truly wonderful places to visit. No Wikipedia page, website, Instagram post, or social media app can capture the real beauty or the magical feeling of being there. It truly feels like heaven. Those who haven’t visited these places are definitely missing out on a fun, adventurous, and unforgettable trip.
