Some places make you pause, look up, and realise how small we are, yet how limitless our dreams can be. The Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida is one such place. For us, the journey to KSC is not just a destination on a map, it is a journey into human imagination.

The first thing we noticed when we arrived was a certain energy in the air. Located on Merritt Island, not far from Orlando, KSC has been the home of every major American space mission since the 1960s. We learnt that this is where the Apollo missions began, where space shuttles took flight, and where the Artemis program is now preparing to take humans into space.

The Rocket Garden is usually the first stop, and honestly, it was breathtaking. Dozens of real rockets were towering above us. We were allowed to walk right up to them and read information about them. Standing among those rockets, we could almost feel the courage that powered each launch. After this, we visited the exhibit of the Space Shuttle Atlantis. We watched a short film which took us through the journey of the Atlantis program. As the movie ended, we witnessed the real Atlantis space shuttle.

There was also the Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) which was pure fun. We got a chance to simulate docking a spacecraft, practice spacewalks, and experience microgravity in a way that made us appreciate just how hard space missions really are. The Kennedy Space Center did not only teach us about space. It taught us about people, about dreaming big, pushing limits, and believing that impossible things can be done.
