We are sharing our experiences of exploring the Rajput history in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. In Jodhpur, we explored the history of the Rajput kingdom. We learnt about their lifestyle and how they built their empire and civilised it.
Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha. Our guide told us that the local inhabitants also called the city Jodhana. It historically belongs to the kingdom of Marwar. During independence, the ruler of Jodhpur was Hanwant Singh. Rajputs are famed for their fighting abilities. They ruled numerous Indian princely states once. These Rajput rulers are known for their bravery and the sacrifices made by them. They are recognised as ideal heroes, who fought courageously and were not scared of choosing death rather than leaving the battlefield. Stories about Rajput heroes are also recorded in form of poems and songs, which were recited by specially trained minstrels.
We went to Jodhpur on 14 th October and visited various forts to know about their lifestyle. At the forts, we hired tour guides. They narrated the Rajput history to us.
We had a lot of fun in Jodhpur. We got to know about the history of the Rajputs of Jodhpur, their lifestyle, their culture, their tradition and many more things. We had a beautiful journey in Jodhpur. We were amazed to see the architecture. It was a bit difficult for us to roam around in an open area because of the high temperature but we had a good experience shopping in Jodhpur.
