Have you ever wondered how people lived in the past? If you’re anything of a history buff like I am, or even if that thought has ever crossed your head, you must have also read about the great dynasties, kingship, and the era of royalty that ruled over the regions we call India today.
Amber Fort in Jaipur still stands as a symbol of monarchy. It is the pinnacle of architectural brilliance. Our journey included visiting different places within the fort, Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, and Sheesh Mahal. Any praise given to the architectural layout of Amber Fort will fall short. It was truly ahead of its time. Not only is the main building still standing, but even the fortress surrounding the fort is the third longest in the entire world, measuring a whopping 12 kms.
The kings and queens had different private chambers depending on the seasons and several meeting rooms for the court officials and common public to gather in. As a first-time visitor, I was overwhelmed to see just how vast the fort was. The whole atmosphere of the place with the colourful elephant rides, vendors, and Rajasthani cultural musicians made me feel as if I were a court official living in the 1700s.
Overall, Amber Fort is a truly magical place that could only be found in a movie. The serenity and elegance of the place truly made me fall in love with it. You’ll surely be enraptured too. So, is Amber Fort on your list of places to visit?
