The Timeless Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar is a fascinating and beautiful monument that offers a glimpse into the rich heritage of India’s scientific and mathematical past. It is a collection of astronomical instruments and observatories built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh II in the early 18th century.

In addition to the sundials and clocks, the Jantar Mantar also has several other intriguing instruments. One such instrument is the Jai Prakash Yantra, which can measure the positions of stars and planets with great accuracy. Another is the Rama Yantra, which allows the observer to measure the altitude of celestial bodies.

For astrology enthusiasts, the monument has a model that can determine your Zodiac sign based on the position of the sun at the time of your birth. This is a popular attraction for visitors to the Jantar Mantar. The Jantar Mantar is a must-visit destination for astronomers, astrologers, mathematicians, and anyone interested in the rich scientific heritage of India. The first Jantar Mantar was built in Delhi, but there are several others located across the country, each with its unique instruments and features.
