Whispers of the Wild: Our Jim Corbett Escape 2026

We all know that Jim Corbett is famous for its tigers and natural beauty, but what actually makes it so special? Jim Corbett National Park is Asia’s first national park, located in the forests of Nainital district in Uttarakhand. It was first called Hailey National Park, then renamed to Ramganga National Park, and finally named after the renowned British-Indian hunter Edward Jim Corbett.

When we arrived in Jim Corbett National Park in the afternoon, we felt relaxed and positive because of the fresh environment. The park had many types of trees, including mango and sandalwood. We visited a large dam built on the Kosi River, which has many tributaries. The river had clear water, and we could see colourful rocks inside it.

During our journey, we also visited a museum, named Dhangarhi museum, where we learnt about Jim Corbett’s life and the wildlife found in the park. We also explored Kainchi Dham, which is an important religious site for local Hindus.

The most exciting part of our journey was the safari in the Sitabani region, which is one of the eight zones of Jim Corbett. During the safari, we saw different animals like sambar deer, spotted deer, wild fowl, and even the footprints of elephants. We also spotted birds like eagles, kingfishers, and migratory species, along with butterflies. In a nutshell, Jim Corbett has a wide variety of wildlife. It is a peaceful place where we can disconnect from social media and connect with nature.
