The Taj mahal, known for its stunning architecture, attracts millions of visitors every year. The story behind its creation reflects a sense of eternal devotion.

Built in 1648, the Taj Mahal is often regarded as the Jewel of India. The monument was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. This white marble mausoleum symbolises love, devotion, and ultimately architectural excellence.

We observed that the structure of Taj Mahal is an exquisite blend of Persian, Islamic, and Indian architectural styles. The main building with its massive dome is surrounded by four minarets. The complex also includes a grand mosque and beautiful gardens. The central chamber of the Taj Mahal houses tombs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan, with intricate carvings and inlaid precious stones which add to the monument’s beauty. Often, visitors are mesmerised by the symmetrical design of the Taj and the way it reflects the changing colours of the sky. Especially at sunrise, the white marble radiates a warm, golden hue. We were informed that the Taj Mahal was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1983 and is considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

The Taj Mahal remains a timeless symbol of love, blending architectural beauty with an enduring story. We were captivated by the rich history that continues to draw people from all over the world, leaving them in awe of its splendour.
