Sitting in our houses in the metropolitan city of Gurugram, browsing Wikipedia, made us realise how superficial the information on these websites was. There were figures, numbers, and percentages which were absolutely of no use to us.
Fast forward to a few days later, we embarked on a journey to Jim Corbett with EdTerra Edventures. The moment we stepped off the bus, everything changed. As soon as the fragrance of fresh poppies hit us and our eyes took in the greenery surrounding us, we realised that coming on this trip was one of the best decisions we had made this year. A slight chill in the air and the cool breeze fanned our faces as we stepped out of our rooms early in the morning. This made us realise what we had been missing out on all along.
On the second day of our journey, we went for a jungle safari. While travelling through the jeep, we spotted various animals like deer, monkeys, elephants, and a large variety of birds. We were also informed by our guide that Jim Corbett National Park was previously known as the Hailey National Park and is Asia’s first national park.
After dinner, the evening was spent admiring the clear sky. The constellation that adorned the night sky was a pleasant change from the polluted skies in our cities. But these were not the only things that Wikipedia forgot to tell us about in this trip. The bonds and friendships we forged along the way will always hold a special place in our hearts. All in all, this trip exceeded our expectations about Jim Corbett. No amount of online reading could capture the wonder of what we truly experienced at Jim Corbett.
