Our team is writing a blog on Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world.

The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The monument was built with white marble, red sandstone and other various materials from all around Asia.

The Taj Mahal is considered as one of the finest Mughal architecture with a blend of Islamic, Persian and Indian styles. It took twenty-thousand labourers, various architects and engineers from all over the world to construct the Taj Mahal in twenty-two years.

There is an ongoing myth that Shah Jahan wanted to build a black replica of the Taj Mahal across River Yamuna but could not complete it as his son Aurangzeb imprisoned him in 1658 before its completion. Shah Jahan’s last wish was to be buried next to Mumtaz Mahal who had died in 1631 while giving birth to their fourteenth child.

It took us a while to reach the Taj Mahal but it was worth it. We had lots of fun learning about the Taj Mahal and its history.
