There are places you simply visit, and then there are places that feel like the beginning of something bigger. For us, the Kennedy Space Center wasn’t just another stop on our journey. It was the moment our imagination went into orbit. It is the kind of place where history, science, and curiosity collide. At NASA, space did not feel distant, it felt achievable. This blog shares our experience at NASA through our eyes.

During our visit to the Kennedy Space Center, we learnt that NASA was founded in 1958 at a time when countries were trying to explore beyond Earth. It was officially established on 29 July 1958, after the National Aeronautics and Space Act was passed by the government of the United States. The mission was ambitious and focused on exploring space. It also aimed to advance scientific understanding, and strengthen America’s leadership in space technology. We were surprised to know that the Kennedy Space Center, located on Merritt Island in Florida, is the primary launch site for human spaceflight. It remains one of the world’s most significant space facilities. We were fortunate enough to visit the Kennedy Space Center ourselves, something we had only dreamt of before.

We began with the Heroes and Legends experience, learning about the remarkable lives of astronauts as we reflected on the question, “Who is your hero?” The space shuttle simulator gave us a thrilling sense of what it feels like to be launched into orbit.

We explored the Atlantis space shuttle and even had the opportunity to interact with an astronaut. This was undoubtedly the highlight of our journey. We got the chance to ask all the curious questions we had been waiting to ask, and the answers we received were fascinating.
