On our school trip, we visited the beautiful city of Agra. The first historical site we visited was the majestic Agra Fort. The fort is made of red sandstone and was originally built along the right bank of Yamuna. We explored the fort and saw the great hall called the Diwan-i-Aam, where the emperor used to hold his court meetings. Our guide told us interesting stories about Shah Jahan, who used to live in this fort.
After the Agra Fort, we visited the former Mughal capital of Fatehpur Sikri. It was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar. This visit marked the end of the first day of our tour. The next morning we visited the Taj Mahal. It is made of stunning white marble and is known for its beautiful architecture. We learnt that the Taj Mahal was built in the memory of Mumtaz Mahal, the favourite wife of Emperor Shah Jahan. We were amazed to know that it took 22 years to complete the construction of the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
This school trip taught us about the history and culture of Agra. We also loved spending time with our friends and having tons of fun together. The school trip to Agra was amazing and we will always remember the wonderful things we learnt and saw.
