Today, we visited Saputara, a peaceful hill station surrounded by greenery, which means the abode of serpents. It is located in Gujarat’s Dang district. The climate was very pleasant. Our journey was full of outdoor activities, which made the day even more enjoyable.

Our first stop was the Artist Village. We saw many beautiful handmade arts and crafts that immediately caught our attention. We also learnt about Warli art, which is made using simple geometrical shapes. Through Warli art, we understood how the Warli tribe connects their daily life, nature, farming, and beliefs through drawings. It looked delicate, elegant, and full of meaning.

Earlier, Warli art was painted on clay walls using rice paste to show scenes from everyday life. But today, it has been adapted into many decorative items like pots, wall hangings, and more. After exploring the Artist Village, we went to the Rose Garden, one of Saputara’s well-maintained gardens. We saw roses of different colours, sizes, and shapes. Walking through the garden felt refreshing, and we enjoyed the peaceful, nature-filled environment. We also noticed the local culture, where people spoke Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati. The men wore dhotis, and the women wore bright, colourful sarees, which made the place even more vibrant.

Saputara is truly a beautiful place to visit, with the town being rich in biodiversity and offering panoramic views. The town is filled with pretty Warli paintings that are famous around the world. Our visit to Saputara taught us about art, culture, nature, and the beauty of simple living.
