Corbett National Park: A Lesson in Conservation 2025

Nature is not just something you can see, it is something you can feel. Corbett National Park, established in 1956, was created for the conservation of countless endangered species, including the tiger. This park consists of diverse terrains, such as rivers, plains, hills, and mountains, making it one of the most unique natural habitats in India.

Our journey to Corbett National Park was truly memorable and filled with learning, enthusiasm, and adventure. What most people don’t know is that Corbett National Park was not always known by this name. It was first called Hailey National Park, named after Sir Malcolm Hailey in 1936. Later, it was renamed Ramnagar National Park, and finally, it became Corbett National Park, after the famous hunter-turned-conservationist, Jim Corbett. In 1973, it became India’s first tiger reserve under the Project Tiger initiative to protect the endangered Bengal tiger.

During our safari, we were not able to spot a tiger, but we were completely mesmerised by the enchanting beauty of the forest. The sounds of birds, the rustling of leaves, and the sight of deer and elephants reminded us of how alive nature truly is.

Corbett National Park remains a safe haven for wildlife and a reminder of the importance of conservation. We must continue to protect our ecosystems by preserving endangered species of plants and animals. Let’s conserve nature, save wildlife, and show humanity!
