Ooty Diaries

Wild, beautiful mountains, mystic waterfalls, and lush forests filled with exotic wildlife define Ooty, the queen of the Nilgiris. Located in the heart of Tamil Nadu, Ooty proudly displays its distinct culture and rich heritage. On the 1st of October 2024, we set off on an incredible journey, starting on a foggy, misty night that transformed into a magical morning. As students from the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, we were mesmerised when Ooty revealed its stunning landscape, accompanied by pleasant weather.

Our adventure began at Ooty Lake, where we were captivated by the vast body of water surrounded by lush green forests. The lake sparkled with crystal-clear water as we watched rafts gliding by, enjoying the beautiful scenery that attracted tourists from all over. Next, we visited the Botanical Garden, just a short walk from our lodge. Founded in 1848, this garden was a significant milestone in Ooty’s history. We wandered through its expansive 55 acres, amazed by the wide variety of flora. The lawns were impeccably trimmed, and we loved exploring its plants and flowers.

Ooty truly had it all, with earthy scents and fresh breezes providing a perfect escape from city life. Throughout our trip, we learned important lessons about trust, leadership, friendship, and resilience. The journey was unforgettable, with every moment revealing a new chapter in our lives. It is definitely a place we wouldn’t want to miss!
