During our time in Araku, we enjoyed a day full of adventurous activities. We kicked off our day with thrilling experiences like rappelling, trekking, ziplining, and engaging in tribal activities, including witnessing a tribal marriage. It was an experience that left us with many unforgettable memories.
The morning started with an exhilarating trek up a large mountain, providing everyone with one of the best experiences. The descent presented challenges that we successfully navigated, and the breathtaking views from the mountain were truly astonishing. After refreshing ourselves with drinks, the excitement continued with ziplining, capturing the interest and enthusiasm of all the students.
Following a satisfying lunch, we had a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in the tribal culture by participating in a tribal marriage ceremony. Dressed as tribal people, we enthusiastically engaged in the traditional dance known as Dhisma. This hands-on experience allowed us to learn and actively participate in the lifestyles of the tribal villagers. Attending the marriage ceremony further provided insights into their customs and traditions.
In the tribal museum, we delved into the intricacies of their language, habits, and occupations. Festivals emerged as a focal point in understanding the lives of the tribal people. Our exploration extended to learning about their culture, festivals, habits, food, and more. This experience not only broadened our knowledge but also instilled a sense of overcoming challenges and embracing new adventures. We also gained a better understanding of the tribal people’s values and beliefs. It was an invaluable experience that we will never forget.
