After a long and tiring flight from Florida, most of us just wanted to go to our rooms and rest for a while. But when our teacher announced a trip to the Niagara Falls, we protested a little bit as we were in no mood for more travelling. As soon as we reached Niagara Falls, we were astonished and refreshed by the beautiful view of the falls. Sometimes one needs to put in that tiny bit of extra effort to enjoy what is one step ahead.
Visiting Niagara Falls is an extraordinary experience and one should visit this place at least once in their lifetime to witness this piece of heaven on Earth. We were amazed to notice that we couldn’t see any factory in the vicinity of the falls.
Niagara Falls is one of the world’s biggest waterfalls both in terms of height and width. The Niagara Falls is made up of three waterfalls; Bridal Veil Falls, Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls. Niagara Falls is famed not only for its beauty but also as a valuable source of hydroelectric power.
The oldest and the best known tourist attraction at Niagara Falls is the Maid of the Mist Boat Tour. The Maid of the Mist, as per the title, was truly a ride in the mist. We were exposed to the cold wind and the feel of the mist on our faces was truly a refreshing experience.
This trip to Niagara Falls taught us how boundaries can be maintained peacefully. Energy generated by the falls are equally shared by the USA and Canada. But this trip unfolded an ugly truth as well. The whole world could have been beautiful and pristine like this had man not exploited and polluted it. The beauty of nature is the ultimate form of beauty one can experience. Thus, we should not only cherish nature but also respect and preserve it, for our future generations.
