  2. The national park located in the Ramnagar district of Uttrakhand was founded in 1936. It was originally known as Hailey National Park, named after the governor of the United Provinces, William Malcolm. Subsequently, it briefly carried the name Ramganga National Park from 1954-1955. In 1956, it was rechristened as Jim Corbett National Park in honor of the legendary hunter and naturalist, Jim Corbett.
